Release Notes

This is a template that illustrates the development of a custom tool pane for a web part that is derived from System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart. In order to achieve this the web part implements the interface System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.IWebEditable. This is useful when a user wants for example to have a drop down list in the web part tool pane that is populated from a Sharepoint list or any external datasource. Using the OOB tool pane a user is bound on using drop down list bounded to an enum.
This project demonstrates as well a catch all exception solution for web parts.

Open the solution using Visual Studio 2008
Navigate to \WebPartToolPartPane\bin\Debug\setup using a command prompt
Type install
Follow the screen instructions
